Steve Hubbard t/a Ascension Tech – Terms & Conditions

These are our standard terms and conditions of service. For contractual or recurring charge services there may be additional terms and conditions provisioned by our partner vendors, which we will provide prior to service consideration or commencement where applicable.

  1. While Steve Hubbard t/a Ascension Tech makes its best efforts and uses only equipment approved by its technicians, due to the nature of the Internet, Networking and Hardware failure Steve Hubbard t/a Ascension Tech provides no guarantees against the loss of data. This includes but is not limited to files, databases, records and E-Mail.

  2. Steve Hubbard t/a Ascension Tech recommends regular backups be kept by the client. Further, the ideal minimum backup solution should consist of either a) One physical backup drive on-site and one physical backup drive off-site in a secure location (i.e. a home safe or safety deposit box), rotated at least on a weekly basis or b) One physical backup drive on-site and one cloud based backup configured to synchronize at regular intervals.

  3. Steve Hubbard t/a Ascension Tech is always available to test and verify the integrity of your backups by restoring your choice of backup to prove that in the event of a failure you can in fact access your data.

  4. Steve Hubbard t/a Ascension Tech recommends that these backups be verified on a monthly basis.

  5. Any equipment which is installed by Steve Hubbard t/a Ascension Tech carries a minimum 1-year limited warranty. Warranty applies to equipment only. Warranty does not cover labour or mileage. Certain equipment may carry a manufacturer provided warranty that exceeds 1-year.

  6. Steve Hubbard t/a Ascension Tech recommends that all computer systems be regularly checked by way of routine inspection by trained technicians for viruses and malware that may be affecting performance of your equipment and may lead to the loss and deletion of data. While Steve Hubbard t/a Ascension Tech installs antivirus software on all client’s machines Steve Hubbard t/a Ascension Tech offers no guarantee and accepts no liability in the event of viruses causing any losses to client’s machines.

  7. Due to the fact that internet access is provided by third party Internet Service Providers and that their services are out of our scope of control, we recommend that clients who feel internet is essential to their operations engage two providers, thus providing some redundancy in the case that one connection fails. Steve Hubbard t/a Ascension Tech accepts no liability for the loss of connectivity to the internet due to the internet provider, equipment failure or power failure.

  8. Regarding On-site service, Steve Hubbard t/a Ascension Tech calculates labour billing including the travel time from our premises to your location as well as the travel time to return back to our premises. If a client requests an invoice be presented immediately at the end of the On-site service visit before we leave your location, we will estimate return travel time by using the recorded time taken to initially travel from our premises to your location.

  9. You can estimate the travel time for an On-site service call by using postal code T2Y 5G9 as the destination from your own location in any popular satellite navigation app or website, then doubling that given time. If you live in a rural area that satellite navigation has trouble accurately plotting, you can reduce your billing by providing accurate directions when you book your appointment and we will add those directions to our client database.

  10. Emergency Calls are classified as calls made to Steve Hubbard t/a Ascension Tech outside of our regular operating hours listed on our website. Emergency Calls are billed at double our posted labour rate. In these situations, we will always notify clients at the beginning of a call if it is classified as an Emergency Call before proceeding with any billable work.

  11. There are no additional oral or collateral representations other than those which are specifically included in these Terms & Conditions.
